American Armed Forces Executes Deadly Attack in Eastern Pacific, Resulting in 4 Deaths

As stated by a high-ranking military spokesperson, the American armed forces carried out a lethal strike on a boat in the Pacific Ocean, resulting in the deaths of four individuals.

“Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a craft linked to a Designated Terrorist Organization in international waters. Intelligence verified the vessel was traveling along a known drug smuggling route and was engaged in illicit drug transport. All four male drug traffickers were killed, and no US military forces were injured.”

Context and Prior Strikes

This announcement follows a day after a declaration regarding a blockade of all sanctioned oil tankers to and from Venezuela. In that announcement on online platforms, the American leader alleged Venezuela of using oil profits to fund drug trafficking and other crimes, pledging to increase the military presence.

Only on Tuesday, the Pentagon stated it had carried out strikes on three boats suspected of smuggling narcotics in the Pacific, leading to the deaths of eight people. Beginning on 2 September, more than 20 strikes have killed at least 99 people, the majority off the coast of Venezuela.

Government Justifies Tactics Amidst Scrutiny

The administration has faced growing demands to release video of a September 2nd vessel attack. However, officials have refused to do so. The administration has supported its efforts as a success, saying it has stopped drugs from reaching US shores and has dismissed concerns that it is stretching the bounds of lawful warfare.

While the administration has stated the campaign is about stopping drugs destined for the US, comments from a senior aide appeared to confirm a broader political objective. In a recently published interview, the chief of staff remarked the leader “aims to keep on blowing boats up until the Venezuelan president cries uncle.”

This indicates the military campaign may be part of a strategy to remove Venezuela's current leadership.
