Raducanu made it to the third stage in three Grand Slam tournaments Grand Slam events this year.

The British tennis star Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from the last two tournaments in 2025 as a result of a health issue that has affected her in recent days.

Raducanu, aged 22 had planned to participate in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but has decided to fly home to rest and recuperate ahead of launching plans for the 2026 season.

Her upcoming training will involve coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have agreed to work together for the upcoming season.

The tennis professional had her blood pressure taken during her first-round match with Ann Li in Wuhan last week and withdrew when losing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She again required medical attention at this week's Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.

Her movement was far from freely in the third set versus Zhu due to a lower back issue that has been a concern at times this year.

Such performances meant an encouraging season, in which the player advanced into the international top 30 for the first time in more than three years, ended with three successive defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points then was defeated by Pegula in round three in the Beijing tournament last month.

Raducanu won 28 matches this year and advanced to the semis in the Washington tournament, but her standout performance was at the Miami Open in March.

As Britain's top player advanced to the quarters of the WTA 1000 event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way before losing in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

She worked with trainer Mark Petchey from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in for the US Open.

The first plan with Rafael Nadal's former coach was through the season's conclusion but the collaboration persists, with a training block pencilled in for the end of the year.

Raducanu told that her three-day trial alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She nearly succeeded to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati in August.

Roig joined her in New York, where she made the third stage then falling to Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
